One of my favorites on Twitter just posted this.
Notice how it says iced water at the end. Cold water in your stomach will force your body to warm it up. It's a way of burning off excess energy. Your body will expend energy doing this. You will boost your metabolism drinking slightly chilled water. A boosted metabolism will burn more fat and help you lose weight.

Look at the diet too. It's old school dietary advice.
Nobody was fat in those days, at least not many.
Today, obesity is at endemic levels. The dietary advice has changed significantly since then. Dietary advice which is obviously flawed.
Switch back to the old school way. See if your weight improves.
