Coffee is very good for you.
It opens up your ateries and boosts your metabolism. Just don't add anything else to it.
If you want to seeeten your coffee, just add some raw honey.
I like to drink black coffee before a workout. It's just something I do. It turns out my intuition was right about doing this.

Being very disciplined I allow myself only 4 cups of coffee per day. Tried drinking it black and liked it, and black it has been for many years. I do use sugar, 1 tsp.

If not then brown sugar is healthier than white sugar. Black coffee is the best because you're not adding anything else. It's kind of like eating a very healthy meal but spoiling by putting on rich and heavy sauce on top, which is unhealthy. You reduce the effectiveness of the meal.
